Brød – The Danish Bakery

I visited Brød in mid November with my sister and mum for an Afternoon Hygge Tea. Christmas had already landed at Brød and we loved the festive decorations.  It is a warm and inviting venue located in Pontcanna.

I loved the rolling pin wall and the festive corner. There was even a Brød gingerbread house and you can also book a house decoration workshop.

We were offered a selection of hot drinks and we opted for English Breakfast tea, which was supplied by Waterloo Tea. I loved the cute Danish Christmas plates!

Our cake stand and sandwich board looked incredible. The open sandwiches were a nice change to the usual afternoon tea sandwich. There was brie, ham salad and sun dried tomato all on rye bread.

The cake stand consisted of various Danish pastries. There were jam and custard Spandauer which were sooo good. They really melted in your mouth! A chokolade bolle which was a chocolate pastry and chocolate brownie on the middle tier. The top tier had a mini apple pie and a another cake (unfortunately I took it home and my husband ate it, now he can’t remember what it was)

Afternoon Hygge Tea is £15 per person and is available 2pm – 4pm, Tuesday to Friday. 48 hour pre-booking required. You can book the tea via the contact form or by phoning 02920 251822

It is a lovely venue and the staff were all welcoming and attentive. It’s a great place to pop in for a coffee and a pastry, or treat yourself to the full works!
